The Smithfield Group provides a range of electrical services; from installing a single power point in a home, to specialised monitoring of major power installations.

With the latest in thermal imaging technology, Smithfield is able to scan equipment and structures to monitor temperature distribution inside electronic components and detect abnormalities which may indicate preventative maintenance or repairs are required. Thermal imaging is a valuable diagnostic tool which could save businesses costly repairs down the track.

The technology can be used to identify and pinpoint temperature irregularities in a range of electrical and mechanical components and because most industrial, electrical and mechanical problems tend to occur when there is a temperature increase in the working components, we are able to detect the problems well in advance and provide you with a prioritisation for maintenance or repairs to be done.

Horizon Power, Shire of Broome and numerous other companies have already benefited from Smithfield’s thermal imaging inspections which some with a comprehensive report and analysis, supplying the customer with accurate data to prioritise preventative maintenance or repairs, maintenance and electrical testing.   Smithfield are able to carry out test and tagging of portable and fixed appliances to current Australian Standards.

Smithfield also have the instrumentation to enable field testing of Earthing Systems and to carry out Data Logging for clients who require details of full load current, power factors and harmonics monitoring.

Plumbing services

We have two Plumbers who have many years experience in house building.  We also have 2 carpenters who are fully experienced in repairs and maintenance and are competent in floor and wall tiling and painting.  They all have had many years experience in all of these areas in the Pilbara and Victoria.

Marine and Offshore services

The manager of Smithfield Group has spent many years involved in the construction and maintenance of offshore oil rigs, rig tenders, barges and pilot vessels and has tradesmen who are able to assist in most facets of the ongoing maintenance and repairs associated with work vessels and rig electrical equipment. We have completed several large jobs including up-grading of vessels and a barge to be compliant with australian standards and meet the requirements of the vessel owners.

These works include alternator repairs, power controls, fire systems and testing and tagging of ships equipment. We are available on a 24/7 basis and will work from Karratha to Darwin if required.

Building/Renovation

This is works that ranges from repairs to houses, sheds , dongas and construction of small purpose built buildings for such customers as remote schools and communities.

In the past year we have carried out works for the major aboriginal community organisations , the west kimberley health and housing and works as well as working in conjunction with othe local builders in major refurbishments north of Derby.

Refigeration and Airconditioning

Smithfield group has over the past two years successfully tendered for refrigeration maintence contracts for the west kimberley health department, building management and works, coles express and many other organisations.

We have been involved in installation of air conditioning, cool rooms , freezers and throughout the kimberley from Halls Creek to Broome including Fitzroy crossing and Derby as well as many remote community locations.

We are service agents for Daikin and Fujitsu.
